If you ask us; “Hi Spanish lads from Travel Spain, what’s the most magical place in Spain?” we would probably mention Gaztelugatxe.

Even though not many people know about it, this place is not just magical┬ábut it’s also beautiful. Actually it’s so awesome to see that it even appeared in some movies, one of them Open Graves (2009).

What makes Gaztelugatxe so magical (and, to be honest, spooky too) is difficult to tell. Maybe it’s because the hermitage on top of the almost isolated islet gives Gaztelugatxe a Dracula’s Castle look. Or maybe it’s because it has a unique light and atmosphere that gives the place a mysterious touch. Whatever it is, this place is unique and we totally recommend it.

Once you arrive at the zone, there’s a narrow path that will guide you to the Ermita San Juan (the hermitage) through 241 steps. When you arrive at the top you’ll be able to put your foot on top of San Juan’s foot print. It will give you good luck! And once you’re inside the hermitage you can make the bells ring 3 times and make a wish!

The best part, of course, is when you raise your head and see the sea from far away. MAGICAL!
